Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Inducts Inaugural Class of the 1916 Society

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital honored and inducted the first members of the hospital’s newly launched 1916 Society at the group’s first annual meeting. The 1916 Society was established to recognize donors who are planning gifts today that will provide significant benefits in the future for everyone in the hospital’s care. There are several ways to participate in the 1916 Society, including a bequest in your will, beneficiary designations, appreciated securities, and life income plans.

A Grateful Patient

$20,000 Gift Will Re-Launch Successful Educational Program for Patients with Diabetes

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is grateful to an anonymous patient who generously donated $20,000 to benefit the hospital’s Diabetes & Endocrinology Center after receiving excellent and compassionate care. The gift will support a Diabetes Boot Camp Program designed to educate patients on reducing diabetes-related complications, maintaining good health, and managing their disease.

A Lifetime Connection to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital

Gladys Cerruto’s history with Charlotte Hungerford Hospital goes all the way back to her beginning. A proud Torrington native and one of the region’s first women business owners—she served on the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Board of Governors.

Gladys no longer serves in a leadership capacity but continues to support the hospital as a Corporator and through generous gifts—including a recent investment in the hospital’s da Vinci Surgical System. She is also a member of the 1916 Society, which recognizes individuals who plan to include Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in their legacy.

$1M Grant to Establish the Robert R. Rosenheim Pet Therapy & Restorative Healing Program for Youth and Families

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is grateful to the Robert R. Rosenheim Foundation which has generously awarded a $1 million grant to establish the Robert R. Rosenheim Pet Therapy & Restorative Healing Program for Youth and Families.

“The Center for Youth and Families stands as the only accredited Child Advocacy Center in northwest Connecticut and this charitable investment will greatly benefit local children and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental difficulties by strengthening the Center’s services and accessibility,” said John J. Capobianco, Senior Vice President of Operations, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
