Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is grateful to our longtime philanthropic supporter and community partner O&G Industries, which has generously committed $200,000 to assist the hospital in funding a da Vinci Surgical System. The da Vinci Surgical System would be the first and only system of its kind in Litchfield County, underscoring Charlotte Hungerford’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare and world-class medical technology to the communities it serves.
The da Vinci surgical system is the next generation of surgery, bringing maximum precision to minimally invasive surgery. This leading-edge system would greatly enhance surgical capabilities at Charlotte Hungerford by allowing complex procedures to be performed through incisions—providing patients with quicker recovery times, better outcomes, and fewer complications.
“The acquisition of a da Vinci Surgical System will mark a major healthcare milestone for Charlotte Hungerford and northwest Connecticut,” shared John J. Capobianco, SVP, Northwest Region, Hartford HealthCare. “This state-of-the-art technology will attract high-quality physicians to our hospital and eliminate the need for local patients to seek advanced surgical care outside of our region by bringing these capabilities closer to home.”
“People are always at the heart of everything we do and there are few, if any, institutions in our community that touch as many lives as Charlotte Hungerford Hospital,” said Greg Oneglia, Vice Chairman of O&G Industries. “An investment in Charlotte Hungerford is an investment in our families, neighbors, clients, and friends—and O&G Industries is proud to partner with the hospital to help make this vision a reality.”
“O&G Industries’ commitment to our hospital goes back decades and we are very thankful that they consistently step up to strengthen our shared community’s access to premium healthcare,” shared Debbie Bender, Senior Philanthropy Officer at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. “The da Vinci Surgical System will be a game-changer for our region—enhancing the patient experience, improving the population’s health, and reducing clinical costs for our hospital and patients.”
