A generous $1 million gift from O&G Industries will bring the latest in radiation therapy technology—a Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator (LINAC)—to patients across northwest Connecticut, continuing a longstanding partnership with Charlotte Hungerford Hospital that has advanced healthcare within the community it calls home.
The gift builds on O&G Industries’ decades of support for Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, including helping to bring the region’s first da Vinci Surgical System to the hospital, supporting the Pink Rose Fund, and serving as a steadfast sponsor of the annual Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Golf Classic. Through each of these investments, O&G Industries has improved access to care for local residents.
The LINAC provides advanced imaging capabilities and precision targeting that allows clinicians to treat tumors more accurately, while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue—enhancing both treatment effectiveness and patient experience.
“Every person has been touched by cancer in some way, and we understand the difference timely, high-quality treatment can make for patients and their families,” said Christina Rossi, Vice President, O&G Industries. “Hartford HealthCare and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital consistently demonstrate an unwavering commitment to exceptional cancer care. We are honored to support this investment in advanced radiation technology and hope it will have a meaningful impact on patients across the region.”
“Hartford HealthCare is deeply grateful for O&G Industries’ philanthropic leadership and enduring commitment to strengthening healthcare,” said Ashleigh G. Leite, FAHP, CFRE, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Hartford HealthCare. “Their generosity reflects the power of local partnerships to create a better future. Through this gift, O&G Industries is helping us ensure that more patients can focus on what matters most: their health, their healing, and cherished moments with the people they love.”
“O&G Industries has been an incredible partner to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and our community for many years,” said Debbie Bender, Director of Philanthropy. “This extraordinary $1 million gift is another example of their commitment to ensuring our patients have access to advanced, high-quality care close to home. We are tremendously grateful for their generosity, their partnership and all they continue to do for our community.”
