Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is grateful to the BMR Family Fund at the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation for their creation of the CHH-BMR Family Oncology Fund.

The generous gift from the BMR Family Fund is allowing Charlotte Hungerford Hospital to invest in leading-edge technology for cancer care—including a low-level light therapy device for survivors with lymphedema and a Neuroglide System that enhances lymphatic flow and reduces discomfort related to scar tissue and radiation side effects.

Additionally, the fund enables the hospital to supply oncology patients with resources that promote comfort, safety, and healing—such as neuropathy mitts, gloves, and socks for patients experiencing peripheral neuropathy, a condition that causes pain, numbness, and balance issues.

“The BMR Family Fund’s philanthropic support represents a meaningful investment and trust in Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s comprehensive and coordinated care, as well as the extra mile we take to ensure our patients’ comfort and well-being,” said Debbie Bender, Director of Philanthropy at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. “The northwest corner deserves access to excellent healthcare and the best medical technology close to home, and we are thankful to the BMR Family Fund for enhancing our ability to restore quality of life to those in our care.”
